Default Concept Classes: Chapter 3

With this talk about Chapter 3 being tribal based my brain sparked and I gave it lighter fluid to ignite. I've come up with some pretty neat and still balancing ideas.

New Classes for Guildwars Chapter 3.

Voodoo Doctor - A casting based class that requires a voodoo doll to control and curse foes.
With a hex spell can drone and become master to an enemy foe for a bit of time.
Imagine taking control of a level 28 monster for 30 seconds? Especially a caster hahaha
This class is balanced because the power is strong but limited. It is in essence an Anti-ranger
Curses can counteract and cast on yourself if you are not careful

Attributes
Voodoo - The ability to curse and control foes
Mojo - The Voodoo D's inherent skill , makes your voodoo/sacraficing work more effectively
(edit) Sacraficing - Use target foe or yourself to make sacrafices for HP/MP/enchantment effects
__

(edits) To detail the Voodoo Doctor. You cannot instantly gain control of a foe via hex spell. How this would work is you would have a hex spell called "Voodoo Curse" which would make your voodoo doll targeted to the one foe. Once hexed with another spell can curse or use "My Advocate" to control the foe for a temporary amount of time. The curses would be similar to necromancers but more like assassins deadly arts skills. See the role of a Voodoo Doctor is to control a foe then rapidly buff them with curse spells to make them stronger and faster. "Wrath of the Lion" would make your foe attack 33% faster and double adreneline each strike.
Note though: It is a hex spell- meaning mesmers can mince you if your not careful. Meaning you'll have one angry monster on your bum!
(edits) Sacraficing would work like this, you cast it a spell say one for yourself. You die for an amount of time 15 seconds, you get the penalty bonus since you died, but you come back to life for like 30-60 seconds with +200 hp +10 mp . Voodoo cursed sacrafices would cause AOE curses to foes around the one you scaraficed..they too though come back to life after a period of time

Capoeira based fighter - Because guildwars does NOT have a hand to hand combat class! This fighter
would mostly consist of kicking based attacks with a couple of elite skills being hand hits
( off my head a cupping hand techinque that would daze the enemy and also cause exhaustion )
This class would use Adreniline for fighting attacks with some energy based skills here and there
This would be the first class able to BLOCK and EVADE skills passively, as a downfall the armor class
is equal to that of a casters.

Attributes would be

Dexterity - Counts for speed in blocking attacks and some kicking skills damage increase
Agility - The inherent skill. An ability to AVOID attacks and counter them
Rthymn - Makes the combo system similar to assassins work better
when you put more points into this class it gives your combos the chance to do critical hits
___

( another edit: This fighter would work on this basis. Your combo system would work similar to that of an assassins but would have to charge up adreniline to work. The unique thing of this fighter is they have skills that make them counter and do critical hits/negative effects. This would happen upon evading/blocking an attack. Since evading and blocking are different things altogether so would the kind of skills. For instance we have a kick that criticaly hits but will only effect if the character successfully evades an attack.. etcetra )

I could go into depth of them more unfortunately I cannot think up basic details of attributes. I may return to put some detail but I need some more ideas and maybe other peoples thoughts on the subject. Remember to check back I'll keep adding ideas to this.

On Voodoo Doc: I am not sure if we need another curse/hex-type spell caster. The use of Voodoo doll could be interesting, if given a unique playing mechanics. Controlling a foe, while would be fun to see in PvP, might need some balance check and addtional restrictions.

On Figther: Capoeira fighter would be awsome.

Gah, I really hope chapter 3 or any other upcoming chapters arent tribal based. That would be weird and dumb. IMO, they dont even need specific themes. Prophecies was fine, and it didnt really have one theme.

The two ideas just arent very original. The voodoo guy would be either overpowered or too hard to use in pvp. Seems too much like a necro anyway.

The capoiera whatever has been suggested before. It would be kinda cheap because it would be the only class that doesnt use a weapon so it seems you wouldnt have to buy anything or unlock mods etc.

Capoeira fighters... don't actually fight... at least Im pretty sure they dont fight. That's why Tekken has been indirectly disowned^^.

!~Samba~! Stance 10E 0C 35R
For 10...75 seconds you have a 1...5% chance to evade attacks. Whenever you are struck, Samba increases your evasion by 1...5% (max 10...60%)

Samba is like the... default action in Capoeira.

EDIT: Please make sure you're not linking 'witch doctor' with someone who practices voodoo. They are two completely opposite professions.

EDIT2: Capoiera didn't originate from Africa... did it?

I think it's kind of silly to be brainstorming classes for Chapter 3. Anet would need to be in the development process by now in order to ensure that whatever class they chose is functional, make and test new skills for balance. They are already plotting and deciding the classes and themes for Chapter 4, you would be lucky to get some imput in before they decide that, and since we don't know what kind of chapter 4 will be, it is best to simply make suggestions broad and hope there is a chapter in the future it would fit in.

P.S. Capoera is native in South America and a few Islands.

Besides, from what I've read the theme is North African - Egypt, Libya and so on. While I think you do (or, at least, did) get tribes up there, it's not the right territory for voodoo or witch doctors.

Capoeira originated from africa and was brought over to south america when the portuguese enslaved them. It was tempered there as it was "the dance to break the chains."

Capoeira is considered a martial art, but also considered a dance, a sport and a way of life. I should know I studied it. The lack of seriousness is just a gimmick, its more about fun then hurting someone, but it killed alot of slave owners back in the 1700-1800's.

Oh they would have to unlock weapons to make them more powerful. There foot upgrades would be the weapon, meaning it would drop just like a sword or staff. It would go over the legs making them damage effective. As for the graphic. Im not too sure. I was thinking like "Iron sandals" or "The golden sandals of Akeem" .. haha *shrug* If you can do aerial kicks in sandals without them slipping off your considered highly skilled.

North african themed? blah! -- ah well I'm just throwing in my gnome fodder
